The shorthand OMG usually stands for “Oh My God!” or “Oh My Gosh!”
But in this book, OMG stands for Observational Marketing Greats.
I love this book!
This is one of my favorite books, and I return to it again and again!
Well, I hate the predictable, boring marketing that so many companies seem to rely on. As soon as a marketing team is tasked with increasing sales, the first thing they think about is reducing the price, handing out discounts, and plastering 10% discount signs everywhere.
Is 10% off the purchase price of an item really going to motivate someone into making that purchase? Probably not, especially when the average order value is around $20, saving the consumer and whopping $2!
Instead of this everyday, run-of-the-mill, hum-drum marketing, OMG is packed with more creative techniques and examples that will make your potential customer stop and react!
Dip in and out
The book is written so that you don’t need to read it all the way through from the beginning to the end.
Essentially, you can open the book on any page and compare the boring marketing techniques commonly used by other companies and then immediately learn some creative ways in which you can do it so much better, and sometimes cheaper!
The problem with using the same marketing techniques as everyone else is that you then become like everyone else.
You blend in. You don’t stand out. You become forgetful.
Good marketing should do the opposite. It should help you stand out from your competition and be remembered for all the right reasons.
This book will help you do exactly that!
