Podcasting has quickly become the ‘next big thing’.
A few years ago, everyone was starting a blog. Today, everyone is starting a podcast.
But how do you go about creating and publishing a podcast? And how do you make sure that it doesn’t get lost amongst all the other competition out there!?
A bit of background info…
For those who don’t know John Lee Dumas, he is an entrepreneur who runs a very successful podcast called “Entrepreneur on Fire (EOFire).”
If you have never heard of this podcast, pull out your phone, download it now, and get listening!
Dumas interviews successful entrepreneurs from around the world. The contributors share helpful hints, tips, and extracts from their life stories, and they give valuable advice to new entrepreneurs.
These episodes are pure gold dust! And they are free and accessible from your phone.
I recommend that, when you’re driving, instead of listening to the radio or to general music, which is going to give you zero value, subscribe to these podcasts and listen to them on your journey.
The time that you spend in your car is ultimately wasted. But by listening to EOFire, or any similar podcast, you can utilize that time to learn from some of the best entrepreneurs in the world.
Why Dumas knows his stuff
You should listen to John Lee Dumas when it comes to launching a podcast because his podcast, Entrepreneur on Fire, has over 1 million unique listeners every single month and generates $250,000+ per month. (Yep, you read that correctly!)
I think it’s fair to say that it is quite a successful podcast, and he is definitely a person you should be taking advice from!
What is Podcast Launch about?
Podcast Launch is a step-by-step guide that shows you how to record and edit your audio, as well as how to publish it correctly on iTunes and other podcasting platforms. You’ll also learn many helpful marketing tips to make sure your podcast gets noticed.
The book details the costs involved in setting up a podcast, as well as explaining how to monetize your efforts later down the line.
It’s not a lengthy book, and it’s not filled with waffle and regurgitated content. Instead, the book is full of straight to the point steps and tips that will enable you to launch your podcast successfully.
I used the advice given in the book to launch a podcast for my previous business. The podcast achieved a high spot in the iTunes chart for Sport & Hobbies and we had a good run with it. (I ended the podcast when I closed the businesses it was promoting at the end of 2016)
So, I can assure you that the advice given in the book does work in practice, and you are much more likely to launch a successful podcast with this book than without it.
This book will also save you heaps of time, as instead of trying to work out how to upload your podcast to iTunes, you can learn exactly how to do it, step-by-step.
My overall thoughts
This book contains everything you need to know about how to launch a podcast and how to do it right!
Anyone can pick this book up and go from not knowing what a podcast is to launching a successful, chart-topping show.
The book is packed with great marketing hints and tips to help you to make the most of your initial podcast launch, together with details on how you can grow your audience and monetize your efforts.
I dropped my “design and layout” score to 9, simply because the book contains no page numbers. I know that’s just a simple thing, but it would have made my life so much easier when I was referencing chapters and pages.

Since reading this book and writing this review post, podcasting has moved on in leaps and bounds and it’s never been easier to launch a show.
