If you’ve not heard of this book, you must have been living under a rock!
I purchased this book in a haul along with 3 others, and when I put a picture of them all on my Instagram account everyone instantly picked out this book saying how fabulous and life-changing it was.
I knew it was a popular book, but I didn’t know it was AS popular as the reception it received.
I have to say that after reading the book, I do feel somewhat indifferent about it.
What’s the book about?
In a nutshell, this book talks about six things that you should do every morning to set yourself up for the day.
Those six things are:
- Silence (meditation)
- Scribing (journaling)
Altogether, that makes the word S.A.V.E.R.S.
The book is called The Miracle Morning because by doing those six things every day your life can change “almost miraculously.”
By executing on all the S.A.V.E.R.S daily, you can improve upon any, or all, aspects of your life.
Throughout the book, the author goes into detail about each step, how to implement it, and get the most from it.
What I liked about the book …
I like the way that the author shows you how you can adapt the routine to fit your lifestyle. You can spend as much or a little time on the S.A.V.E.R.S as you have available. There’s even a six-minute (!) Miracle Morning routine for those who are extremely pushed for time.
Secondly, I do agree with each of the six steps and I do try to practice them daily, although I personally don’t do them all in the morning.
So, overall, I enjoyed the message, ethos, and tactics of the book. That said, this is still not a 10/10 book for me.
There is a lot of fluff in this book that doesn’t really add much value. Although it’s only a short book, it could have been shorter still. Heck, it could have been a blog post!
Also, I wasn’t that impressed with the author’s tips on how to wake up earlier in the morning in order to practice this routine. A lot of what he says is pretty much common sense, for example, “move your alarm clock to the other side of the room so that you have to physically get out of bed to turn it off.”
Given that the author noted he had read multiple books on sleep, I think he could have provided more value about the science of sleep, rather than simply moving the alarm clock.

This book is structured the same as a landing page!
When reading this book, something began to feel very familiar to me.
And then it clicked!
The book is laid out using almost the exact same template as a landing/sales page!
A landing/sales page is a one-page website with the sole goal to get you to either enter your email address and sign up for something, or to make a purchase.
They’re usually very long web pages and they all follow a certain structure which goes something like this…
- The promise – The first step is to grab your attention and to make you a promise detailing exactly how they can help you and change your life.
- “I was like you” – In this section, they describe how they were exactly where you are but with this method/product they were able to re-invent their life.
- Testimonials – Following the “I was like you” section, they share lots of testimonials as proof that this method/product also works for other people.
- The Process – It’s only at this point that they detail the method or product that they want you to buy or sign up to.
- Bonus – In the final section, they pile on bonuses and extras to help make the offer so good that you simply can’t refuse.
The above is the basic layout of a landing/sales page, and strangely enough, The Miracle Morning follows the same structure.
Now, I don’t know whether that’s intentional or coincidental. Either way, it’s not necessarily a bad thing as it does make the book easy to read and follow and it does help the author to “sell” the concept. It’s just something that I noticed and wanted to share with you.
My overall thoughts
I have made some not-so-good comments about The Miracle Morning in this review post, so I must clarify that this is not a bad book. It’s actually very good and there is a lot to like.
There are many people who have contacted me saying that this book has had a positive impact on their lives, and as mentioned earlier, I do agree with the S.A.V.E.R.S. and the overall message of the book.
Overall, I would still recommend this book and believe it to be a valuable read.
