15 Legitimate Reasons Why You Should Be Hosting Your Website With SiteGround

Iโll be honest, when I first started building and tinkering with websites, hosting was an absolute pain the backside for me.
With my first hosting provider, all my websites would regularly go down. I would spend days emailing their support back and forth because it took them 24hours to respond to each email.
It was so frustrating because I could lose money in those minutes, hours or even days when my sites were offline.
So, I packed up my website and decided to move to another provider. I shopped around to get the best deal and off I went.
With my next provider, my site stayed online, but it was painfully slow. It took 10 seconds plus to load each page.
If youโve read my other post about SEO, youโll know that this is was not good. (The Ultimate Beginnerโs Guide to SEO with FREE 20-Point Checklist)
I was banging my head against a brick wall โ why is this so difficult?
Why having a good host is important
Think of your hosting like a laptop, a physical piece of hardware. And your website is like a piece of software that you want to run on it.
If your laptop runs slow, then so will all the pieces of software that you try to run on it. ย The same principle applies.
To have a well-oiled website, you must first have a well-oiled server.
Not all hosting is created equal
Back on the hunt for a top-notch hosting provider, I started by Googling โhosting provider reviewsโ. I wanted to see who everyone else recommended and if anyone else was having the same on-going issues as me.
Amongst all the five-star reviews, this one company name kept popping upโฆ
โฆSiteGround.
I clicked over to their website, and the first thing that I noticed was that their prices were a little bit higher than what I had been previously paying.
But after seeing all the top reviews, I decided to give them aย shot. As soon as my main website was moved, I noticed immediate improvements and I’ve not looked back since!
Great value
SiteGround is not the cheapest hosting provider out there. Youโre not going to get server space with them for 99p, but they do offer exceptional value (and yes, there is a difference).
Although, when you take into consideration some of the additional extras that they provide free of charge, rather than having to pay for them separately, they work out as a much better deal in the long run.
Other hosting providers will advertise rock-bottom prices for server space and then make up the difference when you purchase extras, such as SSL certificates.
When you take everything into consideration, I donโt think that thereโs much it in.
I wouldnโt even consider hosting anywhere else
Since moving to SiteGround almost three years ago, I now host all of my websites on their servers, and I donโt have a single bad thing to say about them.
I have been on one of the top Cloud Hosting packages paying ยฃ80+ ($99) per month, and also the most basic shared hosting packages costing just ยฃ30 ($37) per year, and I have received the same excellent service on both accounts.
I havenโt tried and tested every hosting provider out there, but out of the ones that I have hosted with, they donโt even come close to the quality that I received from SiteGround.
If youโre looking for a new provider, I would highly recommend checking them out โ and if that wasnโt enough, here are another 15 reasons.
#1 Topย data centres on three continents
They only work with the best facilities in the world and only choose the most powerful and innovative hardware to build their infrastructure.
This is important because your website speed and stability depend on the location and characteristics of the hosting data centre.
#2 Free Letโs Encrypt SSL certificate
SiteGround teamed up with Letโs Encrypt giving you an open source security certificate for free.
It’s super easy to install (just a few clicks from your SiteGround dashboard), it’s trusted by all major browsers, it renews automatically, and most importantly, it’s free.
Here’s a quick video from my YouTube WordPress Course (How to Build a WordPress Website From Scratch – No Coding Required)ย showing you click-by-click how to install Let’s Encrypt from your SiteGround cPanel.
#3 Managed auto-updates for WordPress
Remember last year when WordPress websites running an old version of the software were hacked?
A friend of mine got in contact with me and advised me to check my website. I explained that I didnโt need to because SiteGround keeps my site automatically updated with the latest version of WordPress, therefore helping to keep it secure.
By keeping your website updated with the latest version of WordPress and plugins you significantly limit the chances of being hacked. When hosting with SiteGround your website is automatically updated to the latest version within 24 hours of it being released. You don’t even need to lift a finger.
#4 Outstanding speed
Speed is paramount.
The longer your website takes to load, the more people are likely to look elsewhere. Most people expect a site to load within 2 seconds and will abandon a site if it takes any longer than 3 seconds.
Below is a breakdown and explanation of Siteground’s latest hosting speed technology and software.
#5 Amazing uptime – 99.99%
The last thing that anyone wants is to have their website offline – you could be losing money and customers for every second that your site is unavailable.
SiteGround have designed their own backup system and proactive server monitoring. And back in 2008, they designed and innovated a way to securely isolate accounts on shared servers – something that other providers thought was not possible.
This means that if someone else’s website is maxed out, it will not affect yours. To this day, they still have the best security isolation in the industry running on their machines.
#6 Various hosting options
With a range of services available, you are sure to find something to meet your budget and website requirements.
- Shared Hosting – this is your most cost-effective and basic hosting where most companies and websites will begin
- Cloud Hosting – for websites that require ultra-fast speeds, auto-scaling and customisable plans
- Dedicated Servers – your own dedicated server that is set up and managed by SiteGround’s experts
- Reseller Hosting – for web designers and developers that maintain their customer’s websites on a long-term basis
- Enterprise Hosting – SitegGround will build a bespoke solution to fit your exact needs
#7 WordPress services
Everything I build is in WordPress, so I love that they have servers that have been crafted specifically for hosting WordPress sites, along with additional tools to help manage them and make them awesome.

#8 Free website transfers
I hate moving servers; it’s just one of those tasks that I don’t like doing.
I much prefer to build a website and have it stay where I build it. However, from my experiences that I explained above, this is not always possible, and sometimes you just have to move.
SiteGround will move your website from your old hosting provider to their servers for free – let the experts take care of it, and you can sitย back knowing that it is getting moved correctly and efficiently.
During this period, your website should move over smoothly and shouldnโt experience any downtime.
#9 Excellent customer service
Being able to discuss improvements and ask your hosting provider questions is a big bonus.
If I’m ever unsure of something or I need to learn how to use a certain feature in the cPanel, it is so easy to raise a ticket or to jump on their LiveChat and get assistance.
They have a fantastic ticket system that is self-explanatory and works effortlessly. It also prevents you from having to explain your situation five times to five separate people.
All of their agents are super helpful. I’ve never had a negative experience when contacting them.
#10 CloudFlare easy installation
With just aย few clicks inside your SiteGround account, you can put your website on theย Cloudflareย CDN (content delivery network) and improve its security, stability and most of all; it’s loading speed.
You can join Cloudflare outside of SiteGround and add it on to your website that way, but by having it already within your account helps make the process super convenient and straightforward.
#11 Partnership discounts
Within your account, you have access to partnership discounts and free trials from third-party premium plugins and web services.
Currently, I have access to a free trial of OptinMonster, 20% off WP Rocket, 30% off WP Forms, 90 days free heat map analytics from Crazyegg, plus more.
#12 Easy to upgradeย
As your website grows and gains more traffic, your SiteGround hosting will grow effortlessly along with you.
It is super easy to upgrade your server space and services to meet the needs of your website with a few simple clicks inside your account dashboard.
#13 Other customer reviews
The reviews just speak for themselves.
#14 Add-ons available
Once you have your SiteGround account, you can easily add-on or order addition services such as Domain Privacy, Private DNS, Cloudflare, Domain Transfers, Dedicated IP, Move to Other Data Centres and Backup Services.
Some add-ons are free, some require a small cost, but all of them are super-easy and convenient to implement.
ย
#15 Security
Maybe I should have put this point higher up, after all, no one wants their website getting hacked and blacklisted by Google.
All of SiteGround’s servers use the latest PHP versions with the latest security fixes. They haveย sophisticated IDS / IPS systems which block malicious bots and attackers. And they have installed a programme called ModSecurity onto all of their shared servers which they update weekly with the latest security rules, therefore, helping protect us from the most common attacks.
Have I made my point clear?
I am sure that I could find a few more reasons why you should be hosting your website with SiteGround, but I don’t think that is necessary, I think that you get my point.
Hosting can be a minefield. Especially because you’re paying for something that you cannot see and it’s easy to get lost amongst all the technical jargon.
Take my advice, choose SiteGround – you won’t be disappointed.
